January 04, by Teachers Test Prep. The exam is designed to test the reading, mathematics, and writing skills determined to be the most fundamental to a career as an educator. The goal is for you, the test-taker, to demonstrate your general proficiency in these core areas of education. As such, the test can be required in a few different circumstances.
It is also required of those who are seeking an administrative services credential. The test itself is made up of three subtests: reading, mathematics and writing. The reading and math sections consist of 50 multiple choice questions each, while the writing subtest is composed of two essays.
These subtests may be taken on separate days or as a combined exam. For more details about the major content areas covered in each subtest, consult the summaries provided at the end of this article. You can register online on the CTC Exams website or by phone or mail.
A total score of across all three subtests is required. Your results are determined using scaled scores that range from 20 to 80 for each of the three sections reading, mathematics and writing. A passing score on each section is a scaled score of 41; however, you can score as low as a 37 on a section, as long as the sum of your three scores is or higher.

Can you use a calculator on the Cbest? This means that all individuals taking the CBEST mathematics subtest will need to perform calculations themselves.

Payment Processing If you have any outstanding balance owed by you to Evaluation Systems after a test administration for which you were registered, all of your test results for that test date may be permanently voided and therefore not reported to you, to the CTC, or to any institutions.
The following policies apply to you when you have an outstanding balance with Evaluation Systems: You will be assessed an additional fee to cover the processing required to clear your account. You will not be allowed to register for future test dates until your balance, which includes the additional fee, is paid in full. Any credits or refunds for which you may be eligible will be applied first to your outstanding debt, with any excess to be returned to you.
If a credit card charge for an Evaluation Systems service for you is disputed: You may not be allowed to make any future payments by credit card. You must make your payment to clear your account by cashier's check or money order only.
