Looking for another diabetic cat food. Thread starter farleyv Start Date Jul 29, I have a diabetic cat, Goofy. From a diabetic cat site, I have been feeding Friskies wet, only certain flavors. There is a formula for figuring out carbs by adding up the guaranteed analysis. To make my life easier, I feed everyone, all 11 cats the same thing. That way I don't have to seperate Goof out.. I think they are getting a bit tired of this food, and wondered what others are feeding their diabetics.
They were on EVO for a time, but that gets very expensive at 1. And a couple had stomach upsets with it. I know Fancy Feast is a possibility, but again price. Almost impossible to feed 11 cats on those tiny cans! Friskies comes in the large cans, so it is less expensive.
Thanks for any info. If it comes to it, I guess I could start seperating Goofy out again. He seems fine with the Friskies, and feed the others something else. At least different flavors of Friskies.
But then again, they are all seniors, and I would hate to change their food to a carb laden kind and have another cat come down with Diabetes. I don't have a diabetic cat, but I have recently started feeding my cats Sophisticat - Petsmart's cheap brand, similar to Friskies.
I was pleasantly surprised when I looked at the ingredients - all the flavors I've looked at are grain free, and free of other plant products like soy or gluten. Sincerely, Jessica. Oh well, I guess I'll have enough for a while Joined: Dec 1, I bought three cases, but that's ok MikeysMom , Jan 9, I know, I also have multiple cases sitting by my pantry. I was able to get my Henry off the insulin just by changing his diet to Sophisticat, then Grreat Choice. Recently I noticed he was being someone lethargic so I re-checked the labels and they are now putting brewers rice into the Salmon Pate. I am VERY disappointed in Petsmart for endangering my cats and others by not notifying consumers of the recipe change.
